So..... Who succeeded in their 2500 words for the week? Come on, people....accountability!! ha!

I am up to 4500 words on CATCH OF THE DAY, but I didn't write down where I started. I think it may have been aroudn 2000-3000. .... but aside from writing in the WIP, I created a character sheet and a 5 page synopsis, so I'd have to say that I succeeded in my goal.

Time for check in-- how'd you guys do?

My current WIP, "CATCH OF THE DAY" (title subject to change, since its pretty lame), is sort of Legally Blonde meets The Deadliest Catch. It's about a 16 year old Girl named Christa, who spends a week on the Bering Sea, while trying to figure out why her dad prefers his boat to his family, and why 18 year old Greenhorn Cole won't give her the time of day.

I just sent the 4K words (20 pages) + a full synopsis to my agent. I'm hoping she feels some enthusiasm for it, so I can forge ahead while she does some submissions on Prada & Prejudice.

Writing Challenge

Hello everyone!

So...in the efforts to motivate myself, I'm issuing a challenge. My critique partner (Cyn), and I, are going to be writing 2500 words each week. It's a doable goal. If I focus, i can do it one sitting. I guess that's why It's high enough to make a dent, but low enough that if I procrastinate too badly, I can still make myself do it at the last minute. The next book I write might be crap, but it will be written, dammit.

So anyways, I am issuing a challenge to anyone else who is in a slump, or just procrastinating. Every monday, i will post, asking for progress. Anyone can "join". You can post this same challenge on your own LJ. Adjust it as you want.

Who's up for the challenge?

Mandy
